Festival to benefit Quilcene Food Bank

QUILCENE — The Jefferson County Food Bank Association will host its third benefit of the season from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Mini-Fest Benefit — which will feature games, food and live music — is in support of the Quilcene Food Bank, raising money to fund a larger location for the food bank that serves about 1,000 per month.

Admission will be a suggested donation of $10 at the Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101.

A children’s costume parade will begin at 2:45 p.m.

A cake walk and harvest bake sale are planned, as well as a food truck and entertainment by local musicians — banjo player Trever Meade, Rhythm Ride, singer and bassist BÖN and Kalan Wolfe & The Shift.

Event proceeds will go toward a new building to serve Quilcene community clients, expand services and parking.

Donations can be sent to the Quilcene Food Bank, PO Box 112, Quilcene, WA 98376.
