Entertainment varied on Peninsula this weekend

Activities abound on the North Olympic Peninsula this weekend.

• Field Arts & Events Hall offers Community Days, a free weekend of performances from local artists inside the new Donna M. Morris Theater on Saturday and Sunday.

The activities are the weekend before the grand opening of the facility at 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles.

No tickets or reservations are required.

•The 2023 Port Angeles Day of Play on Saturday will offer recreational activities at sites throughout town.

Day of Play, hosted by the city’s Parks & Recreation Department, coincides with National Parks and Recreation Month.

• Lavender Melodrama’s last weekend at Olympic Theatre Arts, at 414 N. Sequim Ave., is today through Sunday.

The interactive show is at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for students.

The ninth annual Bill Evans Somatic Dance Conference will offer dance concerts today and Saturday at the JFK Hall at Fort Worden in Port Townsend.

Concerts begin at 7 p.m. with doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to today’s dance concert, Summer Dance 1, will be pay-what-you-can at the door, with $5, $10, $15 or $20 suggested.

On Saturday, performance artist, writer and choreographer Claire Porter will be the featured performer at Summer Dance II.

Tickets for the special Saturday show will be available in advance online or at the door. Price is $25 (plus service fee if purchasing online) at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/6038749.

• Poet Dianne Lynn Knox will read from her first book, “Red Hot Pepper,” a collection of poetry written over the past dozen years, as the featured speaker at the Olympic Peninsula Authors open mic from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at KSQM, 609 W. Washington St., Suite 17, and via Zoom.

• Mia Torres will perform from 5 p.m to 7 p.m tonight at the Old Alcohol Plant Inn, 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock. No cover charge.

• In The House will perform from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at the Port Townsend Brewing Co., 330 10th St., Port Townsend. No cover charge.

• Scott Pemberton O’Theory will perform during the Brewfest benefit for the Edensaw Cancer Foundation from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Port Townsend Brewing Co., 330 10th St., Port Townsend. No cover charge. This is a 21+ event.

• Gerry Sherman will perform from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in Spirits Bar and Grill at the Old Alcohol Plant Inn, 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock. No cover charge.

• Paul Rogers and The Swinging Humanequins will perform from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Marrowstone Vineyards, 423 Meade Road, Nordland. No cover charge.

Grafting workshop will focus on grafting fruit or flowering trees at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road.

• Bag of Books Sale hosted by the Port Angeles Friends of the Library continues today from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the lobby at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
