A variety of entertainment is planned on the North Olympic Peninsula this weekend.
• “Every Brilliant Thing” — A one-person cast will perform a play that deals with depression and suicide in way described as both “hilarious” and “heart-wrenching” at 118 ½ E. Front St., Port Angeles, at 7:30 tonight and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets for festival seating are available online at www.pacommunityplayers.com or at the door for $15. Masks are required.
The play is based on a true story about a child learning how to cope with her mom’s mental illness and her own fears, by composing a list of “every brilliant thing in life.”
Actor Emma Jane Garcia portrays the character who goes through different developmental stages in life, as does the purpose of the list. Audience members are drawn into the performance.
• Jefferson County Farm Tour — Self-guided tours at county farms are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The tour is free, but a $10 donation is suggested per car. The donations can be paid at the farms or the Farm Tour Central at the Chimacum Corner Farmstand at 9122 Rhody Drive the weekend of the event. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Most farms will be open both days for tours, but there are a few open only on Saturday or Sunday. For updated information about farms open on certain days, check the website or check in at Farm Tour Central.
An outdoor screening of “Charlotte’s Web” will kick off the weekend at 7 tonight at Worthington Park in Quilcene.
A Barn Dance is planned from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at White Lotus Farm & Inn, 3723 Beaver Valley Road in Port Ludlow. Tickets of $10 will be available at the door. Organizers urge attendees to carpool since parking is limited.
• Quilcene Fair and Parade — The parade, the unofficial kickoff to the fair, will be at 11 a.m. on U.S. Highway 101 from the U.S. Post Office to US Bank.
Vendors will be outside on the Quilcene School grounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with music from noon to 2 p.m.
The Arts and Crafts Show and the Quilcene Brinnon Garden Club contests — including for best flower arrangement and vegetable — will be outside in a tent.
The Fair and Parade Association will host this year’s annual car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entry fee is $10.
• Quilcene Oyster Races — The 10th anniversary of the Quilcene Oyster Half-Marathon, 10K and 5K races is Sunday.
Races begin at Worthington Park.
The Quilcene Oyster Half Marathon, which begins at 9 a.m., and the Quilcene Oyster 10K, which starts at 10 a.m., are USATF certified and sanctioned events.
The Quilcene Oyster 5K Race, formerly known as the Ranger Run, is a 3.11-mile course along Quilcene Bay. It starts at 10:10 a.m.
The free Kids’ Sprint, sponsored by Jefferson Healthcare, is a short-distance race held on the field at Worthington Park. The race may be divided into multiple heats based on the number and ages of participants. The start time is 9:15 a.m.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be an open house at Worthington Mansion. At 11 a.m., oysters will served to participants and the Craft Beer Garden will open.
The awards ceremony will be at 11:30 a.m.

• “Turning Points” — The Port Angeles Fine Art Center will host an opening reception for Hannah Klaus Hunter’s exhibit of prints and collages from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Esther Webster Gallery of the center at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. in Port Angeles.
The artist will give a presentation at 5:30 p.m.
The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 6.
Hunter will lead a Gelli Printmaking Workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Limited spots are available for the workshop. Tickets are $75 for members of the center and $85 for general tickets. They can be purchased at https://pafac.kindful.com/e/printmakingworkshop.
• John Paul O’Connor — This songwriter and poet will perform an evening of song, poetry, protest and hope at 7:30 tonight at Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St., in Port Townsend.
Admission at the door is a suggested $15, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay. Proof of vaccination must be presented for entry.
• “Arsenic and Old Lace” — Olympic Theatre Arts will stage Joseph Kesselring’s black farce at the theater at 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, opening today and running for three weekends through Oct. 2.
It will be performed at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. A pay-what-you-will performance also is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 29.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for students, and are available at olympictheatrearts.org or by calling the box office, 360-683-7326, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Vanishing Prairie — The band will perform at the Port Angeles Eagles, 2843 E. Myrtle St., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Eagles cover charge is $10 per person, $8 for members.
• Beach cleanup — The Friends of Fort Flagler are hosting a beach cleanup at Marrowstone Point from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Friends will meet in the parking lot near the Marrowstone Point Light, Marrowstone Point Road.
The group plans to focus on the removal of treated lumber near the light station.

• Digging deeper — Master gardeners Laurel Moulton, Audreen Williams, Keith Dekker and Jan Danford will present “Reflections on the Garden” to close out the 2022 Digging Deeper series at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The panel of master gardeners will discuss what went well in local gardens and what did not this year and present lessons learned for next year at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, Sequim.
Community members are asked to stay home if they are sick; all attendees will be asked to mask regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status.
