Entertainment offered on New Year’s weekend

New Year’s weekend offers some continuing entertainment opportunities on the North Olympic Peninsula.

GOLDILOCKS AND THE ULTIMATE RAMPAGE returns for final shows this weekend, adding new shows after bouts with the flu and canceled performances.

This musical comedy, presented by PA Panto and the Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts, will take the stage at 7 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

One more matinee is also set for 2 p.m. Sunday.

Evening performances on Thursday and Sunday were added after the Dec. 16-18 shows had to be canceled due to illness among cast and crew members.

“Goldilocks and the Ultimate Rampage” is codirected by Port Angeles’ Shannon Cosgrove and Sequim’s Naomi Alstrup as a celebration of life in Clallam County, Cosgrove has said.

As the story goes, little Goldilocks (Emily MacAliley) just wants a quiet life in the town she’s chosen as her home. Her wealthy aunt known as the Dame (Morgan Bartholick) has gifted her a diner there. Meanwhile, though, Goldie’s best friend, Rose Red (Bailey Loveless), is chafing at being stuck in this old village, and dreams of adventure in faraway places.

Enter the Big, Bad Wolf (Dana Duffy). He knows what he wants: everything.

“Ultimate Rampage” tickets are available at JFFA.org, with advance prices ranging from $10 for children 17 and younger, $15 for students and $25 for adults. Tickets are $5 more at the door.
