SEQUIM — Sequim Seventh-day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane, will host the 32nd annual Sequim Community Christmas Chorus Christmas Concert at 7:30 tonight.
Encore presentations will be at 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are $5 each and are available at Bauer Interior Design, 119 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim; Chamber Visitors Center, 1192 E. Washington St., Sequim; Forage Gifts and Northwest Treasures, 21 W. Washington St., Seqium; and Elliott’s Antique Emporium, 135 E. First St., Port Angeles.
Children younger than 12 will be admitted free.
The Christmas Chorus donates a portion of proceeds to local charities each year. Last year, the Chorus was able to donate $700 to Sequim Community Aid and Shipley Center.
This year, funds raised will go to support the grade school strings program sponsored by Sequim Community Orchestra.
The Chorus is directed by Gary McRoberts with pianist Cynthia Webster joining this year as piano accompanist.
Each year, McRoberts and the Chorus Board select a variety of sacred Christmas music to perform.
This year’s selections will include hymns such as “Deo Gloria,” “Who’s That Little Baby” and an arrangement of “Silent Night.”
Audience favorites, “Peace, Peace” and “Hallelujah Chorus” will also be included this year.
There also will be an opportunity for audience members to join in the singing with some traditional carols.
Also featured will be the Deka Piano Trio, with McRoberts on piano, Marlene Moore on cello and Penelope Linterman on violin.
John Zuerner will return on oboe to accompany “Peace, Peace.”

Memorial dance
PORT ANGELES — Black Diamond Community Hall, 1942 Black Diamond Road, will host a dance workshop at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with a dance to follow at 8 p.m.
Entry is by the suggested donations of $8 for adults or $4 for youths.
The special dance — celebrating the life of Bob Boardman — will feature the Possum Carvers, various musical guests and Carol Piening calling the dance moves.
This annual memorial benefit raises a significant contribution of funding for the Bob Boardman Fiddle Tunes Scholarship Fund, organizers said, with all proceeds from this dance going to this scholarship fund.
This fund helps pay scholarships for young musicians to attend the week of workshops at Centrum’s Festival of American Fiddle Tunes, according to a news release.
Boardman was very involved in the festival throughout the years, and took special delight in nurturing the musical skills of younger musicians.
