Musician Johnny Bregar will perform in both Sequim and Port Angeles on Saturday, Nov. 5.
The first performance is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., with the second at 2 p.m. at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
Both performances are free and open to the public.
Bregar, of Seattle, is known for his engaging, eclectic concerts that delight kids and parents alike, according to a news release.
Very few of Bregar’s songs are written simply to be silly, according to his website, as he aims to strike a chord with kids by providing vignettes that echo the way they think about the world around them, while at the same time remaining fun and accessible.
Bregar has released eight albums since 2005.

OTA performance
SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., will host “Phantom Frolics,” an OTA Haunted Theatre Adventure from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The performance is presented by the OTA Childrens’ Theatre Troupe.
Admission is $5 at the door.
During the event, phantom teams of little “ghost hosts” will conduct guided tours of the “haunted” theatre building which will boast a series of frightful special effects designed by student actors, according to a news release.
Trick-or-treating, games and concessions also will be offered.

PT reading slated
PORT TOWNSEND — Writers’ Workshoppe and Imprint Books, 820 Water St., will host a reading by author and poet Kim Stafford at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The event is free and open to the public.
Stafford will read particularly from, “Having Everything Right,” recently republished by Pharos Editions. He also will perform on the guitar.
As the founder of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore., and the literary executor of the Estate of William Stafford, Stafford has impacted the lives of Northwest writers for almost 40 years, according to a news release.
In addition to several collections of poetry, Stafford is the author of “100 Tricks Every Boy Can Do,” “The Muses Among Us: Eloquent Listening,” “Other Pleasures of the Writing Craft” and “Early Morning: Remembering William Stafford.”

Fall concert
CHIMACUM — The Chimacum High School Auditorium, 91 West Valley Road, will host a fall concert by the Port Townsend Community Orchestra at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The concert is free, although donations are welcome.
A pre-concert talk will be presented at 1:15 p.m. by Holly Kaufman, PTCO conductor and artistic director.
This concert features vocalist Robin Reed, of Port Angeles.
Reed, a tenor, has performed throughout Europe and the United States.
His European roles included Florestan in Ludwig Van Beethoven’s “Fidelio,” Giuseppe Verdi’s “Otello,” Erik in Richard Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman,” Don Jose in Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” and Calaf in Giacomo Puccini’s “Turandot.”
Returning to the United States, Reed sang Don Alvaro for Sarasota Opera’s “La Forza del Destino,” Canio for Virginia Opera’s “I Pagliacci,” Enzo for Arizona Opera’s “La Gioncanda,” and M.Landau of the Los Angeles Opera Theater’s “Anna Karenina.”
Reed also has performed a “one-man show” featuring a vast repertoire of solo music from parlor songs to classical and musical theater.
This performance will include arias from “Manon” by Jules Massenet, “Tosca” and “Manon Lescaut” by Puccini, “La Traviata” and “Aida” by Verdi, and Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman.”
The Orchestra also will feature a suite from “Carmen” by Bizet, overtures and preludes from “Die Fleidermaus” by Johann Strauss Jr. and “Die Meistersinger” by Wagner.
