Eight surface design artists open exhibit in Port Townsend

Variety of work from all over Peninsula

PORT TOWNSEND — Weaving, beading, quilting and sculpture are among the techniques shown in a new Port Townsend exhibit of work by eight Clallam and Jefferson county surface design artists.

“Working in a Series” will be open until March 3 in the Peninsula Fiber Artists’ walk-by Fiber Habit exhibit space at 675 Tyler St. in Port Townsend.

It demonstrates how Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend and Port Ludlow artists each used a specific technique to explore a theme or style in detail with multiple pieces.

Jeri Auty of Port Ludlow and Harry Cook, husband of Sequim artist Kathie Cook, install art quilts in the walk-by exhibit maintained by members of Peninsula Fiber Artists in Port Townsend.
