Drink & Draw spotlight on cast of ‘Medea’

PORT ANGELES — Studio Bob will present cast members in costume from Peninsula College’s production of Medea for this Thursday’s Drink & Draw.

Drink & Draw at Studio Bob, 118 1/2 E. Front St., is a free evening of drawing models for all ages.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and modeling sessions will begin at 7 p.m.

Art supplies are provided or bring your own.

The Loom Bar is open with beer, wine, cider, soft drinks, coffee, tea and a variety of snacks available for purchase.

Theater students from Peninsula College will strike dramatic poses at this week’s Drink and Draw as they showcase costumes of silk designed by director Richard Stephens that they wore in the production of Medea that was performed live on Saturday and which will be available from this coming Friday through June 24 at Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/3kHEpfy.

This is a classic play that picks up after the great quest for the Golden Fleece.

“It is the ultimate tragedy with a horrific outcome,” organizers said.

The sorceress Medea opens the play overcome with grief.

After helping her husband Jason, leader of the Argonauts, obtain the Golden Fleece, she is furious when she finds out that Jason has married a younger princess and broken his oath to her.

Consumed with rage for his betrayal, Medea unleashes unimaginable horrors upon the royal family of ancient Corinth.
