Plays, comedy and music are highlighted this weekend on the North Olympic Peninsula.
• Shipwrights’ Regatta is Saturday.
The Port Townsend Sailing Association presents the 33rd annual event with support from the Northwest Maritime Center.
The skippers’ meeting is at 10 a.m. with the two-lap, four-mile race beginning at noon.
The public can view the event from Indian Point, The Pourhouse, along the bluff on Washington Street and from many places along Water Street.
• “A Lion in Winter” will open tonight at the Port Angeles Community Players Playhouse at 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd., in Port Angeles.
The play, written by James Goldman, will be performed on the playhouse main stage at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays and matinees at 2 p.m. Sundays through March 10.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for students and can be purchased online at www.pacommunityplayers.org or at the box office 30 minutes before each performance. The doors and the bar open 30 minutes before curtain time.
• “The Last Romance” finishes this weekend with performances at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday and a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday in Olympic Theatre Arts’ Gathering Hall at 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 students.

• Comedy Night will be presented by Cougar Wolf Comedy at Bourbon West, 125 W. Front St., in Port Angeles at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Admission to the standup comedy show is $15 per person at www.eventbrite.com or $20 at the door
The show will feature Simon Kaufman, Carole Freeman and James Blame.
• Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra will present its February concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at Chimacum High School auditorium, 91 West Valley Road.
The orchestra’s dress rehearsal, at 7 tonight is also open to the public.
• Family concert by the Sequim Community Orchestra and the Sequim Community Youth Orchestra will be at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The free community concert is at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave. There will be a bake sale to support the youth orchestra.
• Concerts in the Woods will feature Jenner Fox of Bainbridge Island and singer-songwriter Jeremy Elliott debut their album “The Moon That Moves the Sea” at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road, in Coyle at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The duo will be joined by vocalist Stephanie Walbon, from Whatcom County, who will sit in with them for the show.
Tickets are by donation; $20 per person is suggested.
• Final weekend for “Burst of Color” is this weekend.
The fiber show at Northwind Art’s Jeanette Best Gallery, 701 Water St., in Port Townsend has 75 works. They include improvisational quilts, a knit-and-crocheted coral reef, birds made of beads and silk, and a jumbo pair of overalls, all on view from noon to 5 p.m. “Burst of Color” closes Sunday.
• Band of Comerados will perform from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight at Siren’s Pub, 823 Water St., Port Townsend. No cover charge, 21+ venue.
• Port Townsend Urban Sketchers will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The group will sketch at the Port Townsend Aero Museum, 105 Airport Road. There are inside and outside sketching opportunities; there is a discounted admission rate of $6 per person to sketch inside.
After sketching, the group will reconvene at noon to share their work and take a photo.
The event is free and open to sketchers of all skill levels.

• Geology lecture at 4 p.m. Saturday will feature Brian Sherrod presenting “High-resolution dating of a multi-fault earthquake and earthquake recurrence in the Salish Lowland”at the First Baptist Church Port Townsend, 1202 Lawrence St.
Sherrod will address a meeting of the Quimper Geological Society. He will discuss the methodologies used to determine the age of Puget Sound earthquakes that occurred on two adjacent faults, approximately at the same time 1,100 years ago.
• Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association will host a jam session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The free session is at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road. Donations to support the district’s scholarship program are welcome.
Performers with other acoustic instruments, such as guitars, bases, mandolins, autoharps, ukuleles, dulcimers and percussion instruments are welcome to attend.
• Work to learn session will demonstrate how to prune roses at 1 p.m. Saturday.
John Hassel will demonstrate at the Terrace Garden in Carrie Blake Community Park, 202 N. Blake Ave., Sequim.
Attendees should dress for the weather, including work gloves, and bring sharp clippers
• Mason bee lecture will be offered by Carrie Morlag at Wild Birds Unlimited, 275953 U.S. Highway 101, in Gardener at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Morlag, the owner of Knox Cellars Mason Bees, will discuss the benefits of the Mason bee and how to attract them to your garden.
She will troubleshoot problems with bee houses and straws as well as providing tips on placement and cleaning.
Seating is limited so attendees are encouraged to call 360-797-7100 to reserve a place.
A $5 to the Wild Birds Community Education Fund is requested; proceeds benefit Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue.
• Future of Oceans series will present Paola Espitia discussing “Water, Wonder, & Wellness: How living by water makes life better” at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Espitia’s presentation, part of the Port Townsend Marine Science Center’s Future of Oceans series, will stream on Zoom.
Espitia, a marine ecologist, will discuss the science behind our attraction to water and ways to practice Blue Mind to live happier, more creative and fulfilling lives.
