Debutones to play at Concerts in the Woods

COYLE — A band new to Coyle will play a favorite style of Concerts in the Woods for audiences Sunday.

The Debutones will perform a blend of country, folk and bluegrass at 3 p.m. at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center at 923 Hazel Point Road.

Admission is by donation. Complimentary cookies and coffee will be served at intermission.

Decades of singing

Debby Nagusky and Don Share had been singing duets for more than two decades when three other musicians joined them and they became the Debutones.

Adding to Debby and Don’s vocals and guitar work are Greg Glassman, vocals and bass; Julian Smedley, vocals, violin and viola; and Bob Knetzger, Dobro and banjo.

Released in late 2015, the group’s first CD, “Please Come Home,” landed at No. 21 and then 40, on the “Top Album” and “Top Artist” lists on the U.S. FOLKDJ-L charts in February and March 2016.

“The Debutones make music that is thoughtful, beautiful, with a lushness and sincerity in its message,” said Jim Nunally, of John Reischman and the Jaybirds and the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience.

“While each musician, on their own, is a great player, together they bring their music expression to another level, and that is where the art and magic happens.”
