Community Read events set for next week

PORT TOWNSEND — Book discussions and a singalong are scheduled for the coming week during the monthlong 2019 Community Read.

The book all in the area are invited to explore is “Piano Tide” by Kathleen Dean Moore, the naturalist, philosopher, activist and author’s first novel.

It’s the story of a clash between a newcomer to a remote Alaskan town and a man who has made a killing there by selling off the cedar, the spruce, the halibut and the herring when he sets out to export water from the salmon stream.

For a copy, visit the Port Townsend Library, 1220 Lawrence St., or Imprint Books, 820 Water St.

For more information see ptpubliclibrary.org/library and call 360-385-3181.
