Climate change talk, concert set for Monday

A talk on climate change and a concert are among Monday’s activities on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Garden club

PORT ANGELES — Bruce Pape will present “How Climate Change on the Olympic Peninsula Affects Your Garden, and More” at 10 a.m. Monday.

Pape will speak at a meeting of the Port Angeles Garden Club at First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles, 139 W. Eighth St.

The public is invited to the free meeting that begins with a coffee social at 9:30 a.m.

Monday Musicale

PORT ANGELES — Monday Musicale will meet at noon Monday followed by a concert by the Messengers at 1 p.m.

The meeting will be in Queen of Angels Catholic Church’s Fellowship Hall, 209 W. 11th St.

The Messengers is a women’s group, directed by Anne Todnem, that sings three-part harmony.

The public is welcome to attend the free performance.

Genealogy class

PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Genealogical Society will present “DNA Testing for Genealogy Research: Is it Right for Me?” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.

The free class is at the Historical Society Research Center, 13692 state Highway 19.

The lecture will explore what DNA testing can and cannot tell you and the types of tests and testing companies that are available.
