Classic Moonfest offers music, cars and lake-front setting

QUILCENE — Classic Moonfest will feature classic music, classic cars and laser light shows at the Lake Leland amphitheater today and Saturday.

The 21 and older festival also offers food and craft vendors, as well as a lounge serving adult beverages. Tent and RV camping allows participants to “come for the day and stay for the night.”

Gates will open at 10 a.m. today with music starting at 7:30 p.m. A weekend pass costs $85. A Saturday pass is $60 and a Friday pass is $35.

The headliner band is Head East, a classic rock band playing such classics as “Never Been Any Reason” and “Since You’ve Been Gone.”

The remainder of the band lineup for the festival includes EvoFloyd, Geoffrey Castle, RocknDoc and the Backbones, Petty Fever, Rockfish and Friends, Kalan Wolfe, and the Shula Azhar Dancers.

Randy and Bridget Linder from Creedence Revelation will provide music between bands with Bridget as Master of Ceremonies.

Held on a 50-acre site with a gently sloping field overlooking Lake Leland, the festival offers camping and event parking for about 1,500 people.

The festival began in 2011. Jim Munn of Munn Brothers Hood Canal Properties and Sheryl Wolover of Yoga Legends host the festival on their Lake Leland property.

“Their vision is to share a place where people can gather in a woodland, lake-front setting to camp, listen to quality classic rock and enjoy classic cars of the era,” organizers said in a press relase.

The festival is a not-for-profit music gathering that supports local nonprofit organizations.
