PORT ANGELES – Clallam Mosaic will present “Swingin’ On a Dream” at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Elvis-inspired show will be staged at The Hub, 117 N. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.
Tickets are $10 per person, $8 for children and seniors and free for Club Hub and Clallam Mosaic VIPs.
Proceeds will benefit Clallam Mosaic.
The family-friendly production will feature a cast of neurodivergent performers along with local band Merge in Traffic.
“This is Elvis-inspired with a twist,” said Baillieu Lewis, Clallam Mosaic activity lead. “Some parts are historical and a lot of it is from our imaginations. Rehearsals have been really fun. We’ve all learned a lot about Elvis’ life and how he changed the music industry forever.”
The project intertwines elements of Elvis’ life story and the actors’ love of superheroes.
The cast features Michael Rief and Nicholas Bell as old and young Elvis; Deni Isett as Gladys, Elvis’ mom; Bonny Cates at Big Mama Thorton; Charlie Snograss in the dual roles of sheriff and Col. Parker; Ben Klockars, Violet Snodgrass and Bob Talbot as Capt. Marvel’s Misfits; Ryan Schmidt, Jeremy Reyes, Deacon and Cameron Bell as prisoners; with Charmaine Davis rounding out the ensemble.
Backstage support includes the directorial team of Lewis, Rose Fredson and Boneita Smith; costume design by Patty Davis; sound design by Fredson; prop managers Lewis and Smith; and stage crew members Garet Bonham and Per Berg.
Merge in Traffic is composed of Ellee Mackelmore on drums, Patty Davis on vocals, Sean Peters on guitar and bassist Bruce Dakin. The band, whose members have crossed paths on the karaoke and open mic circuits before forming a band this summer, performs a mix of blues, southern rock and funk.
