Clallam libraries to offer virtual reality

Journey anywhere and try virtual reality at the Sequim and Port Angeles libraries this winter.

Adults and teens 13 and older can experience immersive and interactive 360-degree video using Oculus Rift and Go headsets at the libraries overseen by the North Olympic Library System.

Virtual reality sessions are set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, and Dec. 18, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 25, and Dec. 20, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

To register for a session, see nols.org/virtual-reality.

Using virtual reality (VR) has potential safety concerns; participants must be 13 years or older (no exceptions).

Adult participants must sign a release waiver, and participants aged 13-17 must have a parent signed release waiver.

Waiver forms are available to pick up in advance at the library or at nols.org/virtual-reality.

VR programming is part of a partnership with the Washington State Library, Oculus, and the University of Washington Information School to bring educational opportunities to library communities around the state. Additional funding for this program comes from the Friends of the Library groups.

For more information about this and other library events, visit www.nols.org or email to discover@nols.org.
