Clallam Bay-Sekiu fun planned this weekend

Activities set today through Sunday

CLALLAM BAY-SEKIU — Games, parades, music and fireworks are just a few of the activities planned this weekend in Clallam Bay-Sekiu.

Clallam Bay-Sekiu Fundays will run from 10 a.m. today through about 4 p.m. Sunday at various venues along state Highway 112, also known as the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway.

Today’s photo contest, book sale and other activities will be capped by a potluck diner.

A Grand Parade, led by a Kiddie Parade, is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, and fireworks are planned on the beach at Sekiu at dusk on Saturday.

On Sunday, the ambitious will start the day with a beach cleanup at 5 a.m., continue with a Fun Run at 10 a.m. and end the day with an art show.

Here is the schedule:

Today

• All day — Vendors, Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Photo contest, Clallam Bay Visitors Center.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Art show, Sekiu Community Center.

• 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Book sale, Clallam Bay Library.

• 6 p.m. — Potluck, Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

Saturday

• All day — Vendors, Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• 9 a.m. — Poker Ride, meet at Clallam Bay School beginning at 8:30 a.m.

• 9:30 a.m. — Scavenger Hunt starts at Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• 10 a.m. — Kite festival, Slip Point beach.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Quilt Open House, Clallam Bay School.

• 11 a.m. — Grand Parade and Kiddie Parade, start at Weel Road at 11 a.m.; lineup is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

• Noon to 5 p.m. — Agate Hunt Booth at Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• Noon to 6 p.m. — Art show, Sekiu Community Center.

• Noon to 9 p.m. — Live Music Clallam Bay Park, featuring Rut Ditch Groove and Black Diamond Junction.

• 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Free kids games, Clallam Bay School.

• 3 p.m. — Live auction, Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• 6 p.m. — Clallam Bay/Sekiu Historical Slideshow, downstairs Sekiu Community Hall.

• About 10 p.m. — Fireworks, Sekiu, viewable anywhere along the beach.

Sunday

• 5 a.m. — Beach Cleanup, pick a beach and bring your own bags.

• All day — Vendors, Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• 10 a.m. — Fun Run, Fire Hall, registration begins at 9 a.m.

• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Agate Hunt Booth, Clallam Bay Bus Barn.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Art show, Sekiu Community Hall.
