Christmas meals offered on Peninsula

Free community feasts are planned on the North Olympic Peninsula on Christmas Day.

The Salvation Army in Port Angeles offered a free meal on Friday. About 100 were fed, according to Captain Crystal Birks, and clothing and candy were distributed as gifts.

Here are dinners scheduled for Christmas Day.

Holiday Meals

CHIMACUM — Holiday Meals of Jefferson County will serve a free Christmas meal on Monday.

Meals are available for dine in at the Tri-Area Community Center at 10 West Valley Road in Chimacum from noon to 2 p.m.

Meals can also be ordered for curbside pickup or delivery.

Reservations are required by calling 360-379-4228.

Reservation calls will be returned to confirm the request for pick-up or delivery.

There is no charge, although voluntary donations are accepted.

Santa and feast

SEQUIM — A free community dinner is available to all community members from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Sequim unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

The meal at the club unit at 400 W. Fir St., will offer turkey, mashed potatoes and pies. Santa Claus will appear from noon to 1 p.m.

The event is organized by Mr. and Mrs. Singh Khela and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hap Khela and sons, Sonny Khela and daughter, Sun Taxi and Delivery, and the Rosales family. Multiple donors make the event possible, including food donated by Sequim Food Bank and space by the Boys & Girls Club.

New toys for all ages can be donated at Sequim Shell Station, 194 W. Washington St.
