Christmas Cottage returns for three-day weekend

The holiday bazaar season kicks off this weekend with a return of the popular Christmas Cottage, which showcases a wide variety of hand-made crafts and baked goods created by area residents.

The show will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The annual show was canceled in 2020 because of COVID-19 health restrictions, but it has returned this year with new items and new artists, but no visits from Santa Claus or a dining area.

Participants must wear masks and maintain physical distancing.

Shoppers are asked to bring their own bags.

Project Linus

The Washington Peninsula/Sequim chapter of Project Linus will host a Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The bazaar is upstairs at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road.

Featured vendors include Dj’s Pens, Jan Kepley’s Photos, Susan’s Pottery, Joanne’s Fabric Necessities, Kim Mittens, Not Everything Wood – Driftwood Club, Pamela June’s Nail Files, Aunt Darlene’s Quilts, Nicki’s Bracelets, Kathy’s Feathers, Linda’s Chocolates and Project Linus kitchen and winter accessories.

Masks must be worn while inside the center.

Proceeds will benefit the local Project Linus chapter, which makes security blankets for children aged 1 day to 19 years old.
