Christian works focus of church book fair in Sequim on Saturday

SEQUIM — Seventeen authors from Clallam and Jefferson counties will join forces Saturday to meet the public, show their wares and autograph books.

The fair, free and open to the public, will be held at Dungeness Community Church, 45 Eberle Lane, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Door prizes will be given out throughout the afternoon.

Their products vary widely: nature photography, Amish novels, Christian living, music instruction, devotional books, Westerns, personal experience, memoirs and a whimsical children’s audiobook are a few of the offerings.

Crystal Linn, a veteran of several book fairs, will have six different books for sale, including some Christmas stories and inspirational books.

“It’s encouraging to meet readers and interact with people about our mutual love of books,” she said.

Linn said she hopes that an ongoing Christian writers’ group will develop from this event.

Sara Daigle is taking her first shot at a book fair, even though her first book, “Women of Purpose,” will not be released until next April. Instead of autographing books, she’ll be handing out flyers and encouraging preorders.

While the authors are Christians, not every book has a Christian focus, according to event organizer Sandy Frykholm.
