Choral Belles to perform in Port Townsend Candlelight Concert

PORT TOWNSEND — The Choral Belles, an all-women’s chorale, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday for Trinity United Methodist Church’s Annual Christmas Candlelight Concert.

Admission will be by a $10 donation at the church at 609 Taylor St.

The Choral Belles, directed by Mary Lou Montgomery, have become a Christmas tradition at Trinity.

The group provides an evening of sacred and secular Christmas music.

The traditional favorite carols of this joyous season will make listeners want to sing along with the Chorale — and they just might invite attendees to do so, organizers said.

The Choral Belles are celebrating their 23rd year of providing musical joy to Port Townsend and surrounding areas during this Christmas season.

Since their first Christmas Concert in 1996, 71 different Choral Belles have performed in the concerts over more than 20 years.

The Choral Belles Christmas program will include favorite carols such as “Were You There on That Christmas Night?” and a favorite, “O Holy Night.”

In addition some lighter carols, such as “Hot Chocolate” “Silver Bells” and “Jingle Bell Rock,” will add to the merriment of the evening.

The program will have a mix of traditional Christmas carols and some favorite secular songs.
