Charlie Brown Christmas performed at Field Hall

PORT ANGELES — The Jose ‘Juicy’ Gonzales Trio: Linus and Juicy will present Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in two performances on Saturday at the Field Arts & Events Hall.

Performances are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at Field Hall at 201 W. Front St. — on the corner of Oak and Front streets in Port Angeles. Tickets range from $15 to $60 for general admission and $10 for students and youth.

The 1 p.m. performance will be one 60-minute set focused on “family matinee.” The 7 p.m. performance will consist of two 45-minute sets. While both performances are family-friendly, Field Hall personnel recommend parents with very young children choose the matinee.

The trio will perform the entire Charlie Brown Christmas album, as well as Vince Guaraldi’s breakout hit that landed him the Charlie Brown gig, “Cast Your Fate to the Wind,” and an original, “Linus and Juicy.”

Pianist/singer Jose ‘Juicy’ Gonzales has performed in Germany, New York, California, Seattle and Oregon and has been featured on the radio including BBC Radio 2’s The Swing & Big Band Show with Clare Teal.

His trio created a holiday hit, playing Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” live, with Juicy telling stories about the making of the special. It is made up of Jose Gonzales (piano, vocals), Michael Marcus (bass) and Matt Jorgensen (drums).

This has been a Seattle-area tradition for the past 11 years and is now coming to Port Angeles for the first time as part of Field Hall’s WA Local Series.

“It’s been very exciting bringing in tremendous talent from the area and throughout the state,” said Steven Raider-Ginsburg, executive and artistic director at Field Hall.

“The Jose Gonzales Trio has been wowing audiences in Seattle for over a decade and they perform the Charlie Brown Christmas album with such joy and energy that all will enjoy this nostalgic performance,” he added in a press release.

Upcoming holiday shows at Field Hall include the Sequim City Band’s “Sounds of the Season” on Sunday and Geoffrey Castle’s Celtic Christmas on Dec. 21. Both performances are sold out. Patrons who would like tickets are advised to call the box office and ask to be placed on a waiting list.

For more information, see https://fieldhall events.org/#/events or call the box office at 360-477-4679 x1. The Field Hall Box Office is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and one hour prior to performance times.
