PORT ANGELES — Get a glimpse of the creativity of your neighbors during the Second Weekend Art Walk in Port Angeles.

The 18th Bring Your Own Art show will open at Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St., on Saturday.

The reception will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and the show will continue from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the upstairs studio on Front Street. A no-host bar and refreshments will be offered in the neighboring space, The Loom.

The all-ages show gives everyone an opportunity to see their own work or the work of their family members.

It is open to all artists: professional, student, first-timers and those who have never exhibited before.

Some pieces will be for sale, depending upon the artist’s wishes.

Artwork can be brought to the studio from 3 to 7 tonight.

The monthly self-guided Second Weekend Art Walk, was founded about 11 years ago by the Port Angeles Arts Council as a coalition of downtown Port Angeles businesses and art galleries to bring attention to the culture and variety offered there, organizers said.

Art Event signs are up at participating hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants and galleries.

Visitors also can take strolls through the collection of outdoor sculptures around Port Angeles’ downtown and waterfront called Art on the Town.

Other events planned on the Second Weekend are:

Port of Angels Jewelry Shoppe, 115 E. Railroad Ave, Suite 211, will be the venue for custom jewelry fabrication demonstrations tonight and Saturday.

Randy Foster, owner of the shop in The Landing mall, will demonstrate jewelry working from 5 to 7 each night.

He will work with larimar and grape agate stones.

Grape agate is a newly discovered stone, found only last year in Indonesia, Foster said.

“This is probably the only grape agate in the whole Pacific Northwest,” he said, describing the stone as looking like clusters of grapes and sparkly, an unusual property for agate.

Bar N9ne, 229 W. First St., at 9 tonight will feature a live performance by Port Angeles band Bread and Gravy, riding the gravy train with a special appearance by Port Angeles artist Rhiannon Williamson as part of 2nd Friday Art Rock.

Bread and Gravy, featuring Stephanie and Jess Doenges, plays blues, bluegrass, classic rock, Americana and contemporary songs described as “comfort food for your soul” on a variety of classic instruments and other surprises.

While the band performs, Williamson will craft her own artistic response to its music. She is new to the 2FAR stage, but she is not new to art.

The human form is one of her favorite subjects and she enjoys doing art along with music.

A $3 cover charge will help support the musicians and artist.

Harbor Art, 110 E. Railroad Ave., features the original work of 16 area artists.

Photography, paintings, block prints, sculpture, wood work, ceramics, glass and jewelry are on display.

The artist reception is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
