Bread & Gravy to perform at Music Live

SEQUIM — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will continue its Music Live at One series with local group Bread & Gravy at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The trio of Stephanie and Jess Doenges and Angela Clift will perform Americana, blues, classic rock and soul for a special 30-minute show in the church’s sanctuary, 525 N. Fifth Ave.

Following the show, pumpkin cake and tea will be served in the parish hall.

Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going toward local, regional and global concerns. Purchase tickets at the door or in advance from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the church.

Bread & Gravy performs as a duo, trio, quartet, quintet and sometimes more depending on the venue or show with dancing, laughing and comfort music, organizers said.

Stephanie Doenges (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica, ukulele) has studied music since she was a child and has performed with various local bands on the North Olympic Peninsula including Restless, Rollin’ Waters, The CornStalks, Deadwood Revival and “Luck of the Draw.”

Jess Doenges (piano, harmonica) has played and taught piano on the Peninsula for a decade. He is a self-taught musician, spoken word performer, including being a 2005 Louisiana state finalist and songwriter.

Clift (vocals) has been singing most of her life and has performed in a myriad of settings, from the back porch to southern and contemporary church settings, weddings, funerals, big stages and street corners from Oklahoma to Hawaii.

Following Bread & Gravy’s performance, pianist Heidi Fivash will perform Feb. 12, Buttercup Lane on March 12, and pianist Anson Ka Lik Sin on April 9.
