Boomfest continues through Saturday

Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. today and Saturday, with some of the proceeds going to the Jumping Mouse Children’s Center in Port Townsend.

PORT TOWNSEND —Boomfest 2016 is offering music, performance art and children’s activities through Saturday at The Dragon’s Nest.

The gate will open at 9:30 a.m. today and Saturday for the event that began Thursday.

A weekend pass is $40 and includes tent camping each night.

Day passes offered

Day passes are $20 for today or Saturday.

Admission is free for children 12 and younger.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jumping Mouse Children’s Center in Port Townsend, said Jeff Pang, one of the organizers.

Headliners include Jes Raymond and The Blackberry Bushes, a bluegrass band from Seattle; Blue Lotus, an American jam/rock ‘n’ roll band from Eugene, Ore.; and Seattle band The High Council, performing rock and reggae.

Also offered are camping, performance art with workshops, morning yoga, children’s activities and informational presentations.

Pang said 20 to 25 food vendors will be on site, along with local artisans.

A beer garden for those 21 and older will be open to those with valid identification.

All are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Organizers asked festivalgoers to leave their dogs at home.

Night light show

Nighttime music will boast a light show by Nth Degree Creative.
