Book discussion

PORT ANGELES — The Wednesday Evening Book Discussion Group will discuss “Sapiens: a Brief History of Humankind” by Yuval Noah Harari at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The group meets at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

In March, the group will discuss ”Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow” by Harari.

Masonic bingo

PORT ANGELES — Mason’s Lodge 69 will host bingo from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The lodge is at 622 S. Lincoln St.

Soup’s On

SEQUIM — Soup’s On is set for noon Wednesday.

The free program at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., is open to the community.

The meal includes a bowl of meat or vegetarian soup, a roll, salad and dessert.

Book discussion

SEQUIM — The Novel Conversations Book Discussion Group will discuss “Calypso” by David Sedaris at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The group meets at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Next month, the group will discuss “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles.

Humanities lecture

SEQUIM — Amy Peloff will present “Should I Still Watch This Show? Pop Culture in the #MeToo Era” at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Humanities Washington lecturer will speak at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Peloff, an affiliate assistant professor of gender, women and sexuality studies at the University of Washington, will explore the cultural and economic issues that arise from consuming entertainment created by people whose behavior may be questionable, distasteful or even criminal.

BLYN

Film screening

BLYN — The Jamestown Tribal Library will host a free screening of the film “For the Rights of All: Ending Jim Crow in Alaska” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The film will be shown in the Red Cedar Hall Community Center, 1033 Old Blyn Highway.

The 2009 documentary highlights the Native Alaskan struggle for equality in the first half of the 20th century and the efforts of a Tlingit woman, Elizabeth Peratrovich.

Representatives of the League of Women Voters of Clallam County will lead a discussion about voting and voting rights after the screening.

PORT TOWNSEND

Singer songwriter

PORT TOWNSEND — Jimmy Grant and Tim Kilphuis will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The concert will be at Rainshadow Recording, building 315 at Fort Worden.

The duo performs gypsy jazz.
