PORT TOWNSEND — The “Bill Evans 81!” dance concert set for Saturday at Fort Worden’s Wheeler Theater has been postponed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases across the North Olympic Peninsula.
A new date will be established as soon as it’s clear infections have abated enough for it to be safe, said Bill Evans, the dancer and educator hosting the performance.
“I and the dancers, as well as those who worked on costumes, music and staging, are extremely disappointed, of course,” he said.
“But it would be unwise to continue with our plans at this time. The health and safety of the public and everyone involved is paramount. We look forward to presenting this truly wonderful show as soon as it is safe for our community.”
Once a new performance date is announced, all those who purchased tickets will be invited to transfer their ticket to that date or receive a refund.
