SEQUIM — Peninsula College instructor Sarah Shepard will read from her memoir of life in the Himalayas as the featured writer at the Fourth Friday Readings at 6:30 p.m. today.
The free reading will be at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Road.
Shepard has shared selections from her memoir, “Shangri-La: Let the World Around Us Fade Away,”at earlier Fourth Friday readings and will present another chapter for the evening.
She also is working on two young adult novels, has authored many short stories and teaches memoir writing for the Peninsula College’s Continuing Education Program in Sequim.
An hour of five-minute open mic readings follow the presentation.
Interested writers should come early to submit their names.
Participants are asked to rehearse in advance, as readings are timed.
