Auditions set for Port Angeles Community Players’ holiday play

PORT ANGELES — Auditions for the Port Angeles Community Players’ holiday offering “Christmas at Pemberley — Georgiana and Kitty” will be conducted next month.

The first audition will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 7 and the second from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 9. Both will be on the Playhouse stage at 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd. in Port Angeles.

“Christmas at Pemberley, Georgiana and Kitty” is the third and final play of the Pemberley trilogy, a dramatic sequel to Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” set two years after the events in the book.

The performance dates will be Dec. 8-23.

There are roles for three men and six women ages 17-35.

Actors of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to try out.

Rehearsals will begin in late September and will be conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Not everyone will be called each night in the early rehearsals.

Actors auditioning will be asked to do cold readings from the play and may be asked to do some light movement improv.

If you wish to audition for the show but cannot make the scheduled audition dates, or if you have additional questions about the play or roles, contact Director Richard Stephens at dramarex@gmail.com, or text or call 360-461-1617.

Perusal copies of the script are available at the Sequim and Port Angeles public libraries.
