“The Importance of Being Earnest” was written by Oscar Wilde and is considered to be a classic piece first opening in London in 1894.

In the story, two young men have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement into their lives.

Worthing has invented a brother, Earnest, whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull life behind to visit Gwendolyn. Montcrieff decides to take the name Earnest when visiting Worthing’s young and beautiful ward, Cecily.

Things start to go awry when they end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered.

The production will be directed by Anna Andersen.

Rehearsals will begin immediately, with the show opening Jan. 27 for a three-week run and closing Feb. 12.

For more information or to schedule an alternate audition time or date, call the OTA business office at 360-683-7326 or email Andersen at falling forshakespeare@gmail.com.
