SEQUIM — Musician Craig Buhler will bring to life the sounds of saxophonist Stan Getz, who introduced “The Girl From Ipanema” and other top Brazilian bossa nova melodies to American audiences, at Olympic Theatre Arts this weekend.
Performance times are 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Reserved Main Stage seating tickets are $20 each for the general public and $15 for students.

Appearing with Buhler will be Laguna Beach, Calif., guitarist Mark Turnbull, who is in the Northwest for the premier of his new play at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival.
Also appearing will be Olympic Peninsula musicians George Radebaugh (piano), Ted Enderle (bass) and Terry Smith (drums).
While the concerts are officially a tribute to Stan Getz’s music, Buhler also will place a spotlight on another: singer João Gilberto, who has been called “the father of bossa nova,” who died July 6 at age 88.
“He was the singer and guitarist on Stan Getz’s mega-hit ‘The Girl From Ipanema,’ ” Buhler said.
“His wife, Astrud Gilberto, was the other vocalist on the record. João and his friend Antonio Carlos Jobim were the ones who virtually ‘invented’ the Brazilian bossa nova style of music. I was thinking we could dedicate the August concerts to his memory. We will feature several of his songs at the concerts.”
