Art Wright photography on view in Port Hadlock

‘The Iconic’ opens Sunday at Old Alcohol Plant Gallery

PORT HADLOCK — The black-and-white photography of Art Wright will go on display at the Old Alcohol Plant Gallery on Sunday.

“Art Wright, Solo Exhibition: The Iconic,” will be shown through March 22 at the gallery at 310 Hadlock Bay Road.

Wright’s photographs “venerate the sublime in everyday moments through his graceful and masterful relationship with silver process of film and paper and an equally reverent ability to capture people, places and moments around the world,” organizers said.

The Portland, Ore., resident maintained two careers: as a professor of photography and film, primarily at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and as a television video journalist in Portland.

He has had numerous one-man photographic exhibitions in the United States and one in Germany.

As a filmmaker, he produced the 1972 film, “Brett Weston: Photographer,” distributed currently in a digital version.
