PORT ANGELES — Field Arts & Events Hall will kick off a series intended to showcase area musicians on Friday.
The inaugural WA Local Concert at the hall at 219 N. Oak St. at 7:30 p.m. Friday will feature two local favorites: The Randall Wolf Band and Deadwood Revival. Tickets are $15. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
But Field Hall will be open earlier in the day to celebrate the soft openings of both the Field Hall Cafe and the Sunset Bar & Lounge.
The soft opening of the Field Hall Cafe will begin at noon and continue until 4 p.m., when Happy Hour in the Sunset Bar & Lounge will begin. Happy Hour will close at 6 p.m., but the Sunset Bar & Lounge will remain open to the public during the performance until 11 p.m.
WA Local Concerts is part of the #FieldHallforAll initiative. Organizers said it not only seeks to elevate local musicians but also provide affordable experiences.
“Field Hall is here for the people and artists of Port Angeles, and we’re excited to honor that through this series,” said Kayla Oakes, director of education and artistic engagement.
“We’re blessed with an enormous wealth of local talent, and it’s incredible to provide these artists with a facility that allows them to really shine.”
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, The Randall Wolf Band is “a powerhouse rock band with a distinctive Southern twist,” that delivers foot-stomping music, organizers said.
Formed in 2022, The Randall Wolf Band is comprised of brothers Joshua Randall Wilson-Turner and Jeremiah Wolf Wilson-Turner, as well as Kevin Parker and Colt Smith.
“The Randall Wolf Band is tickled to be the first band featured in Field Hall’s WA Local Series,” said a representative of the band in a press release.
“We have followed the construction of this landmark theater and now that it’s operating, we get to watch Field Hall plant roots in our hometown community,” the representative said, also complimenting the staff’s care of performers.
“Since the WA Local Series is an ongoing feature of community support, we are also excited to buy tickets to the next local bands to fill the stunning theater with groove,” the representative said.
Deadwood Revival — consisting of Kim Trenerry on rhythm guitar and Jason Mogi, playing a unique claw-hammer banjo style — will open for The Randall Wolf Band.
“We’re thrilled to kick off the very first WA Local Concert and it’s an honor to open for the Randall Wolf Band,” said Kim Trenerry of Deadwood Revival in the release.
“Field Hall is a Port Angeles gem.”
The Deadwood Revival duo aim to redefine old-time, bluegrass and folk. Their music has been described as “rootsy with an edge.”
“From lively hoedowns to soul-stirring ballads, their original songs are celebrated for their superb craftsmanship and have received radio airplay across the country, organizers said.
The Field Hall Gallery will be open to the public form noon to 4 p.m. Friday. It is currently exhibiting “Creations of the Klallam People.”
The second WA Local Concert at Field Hall has been announced for Oct. 21 and will feature Olympic Express Big Band.
