Andre Feriante to perform Saturday in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — “An Evening with Andre Feriante” is set for 8 p.m. Saturday at Studio Bob.

Feriante will return to Port Angeles with guest vocalist Shawn Berit for an intimate concert at Studio Bob at 118½ E. Front St. (upstairs).

Advance tickets are available for $18 at Harbor Art at 114 N. Laurel St. in Port Angeles or Brown Paper Tickets.

Segovia-trained guitarist and composer Feriante, who was born in Italy, has been performing around the word for 30 years.

“His creative blend of classical, flamenco and Brazilian styles speaks to people from all walks of life,” said organizers.

Berit is from Whidbey Island, where he is a father of three, a freelance social media manager, and active in music, arts and writing.

Feriante heard the flamenco guitar when he was 13. By the age of 21, he had studied with the great maestro Andres Segovia in Spain, played concerts in Europe and North and South America, and was part of the music faculty at two colleges.

His career has taken him to hundreds of stages, including Seattle’s Benaroya Hall and The Triple Door. He has played the National Anthem at Key Arena and at a Sounders game at Qwest Field.

He has shared the stage with The NW Symphony, Heart, and Alice in Chains. On several occasions, he has been invited to perform for the Jose Carreras International Leukemia Foundation at venues such as Carnegie Hall.

Feriante has released 14 albums, several of which have reached top 10 radio airplay charts. His CD “Bohemian Boulevard” won Best World Album.

His newest recording, “Terra de Eros,” is a reflection of his multiple-instrument show, “String Stories,” a unique and creative musical journey that features originals and standards played on guitars, ukulele, banjo, harp guitar and charango.

He has been the artistic director of Leavenworth’s Guitar Euphoria Festival for two years and is the host of “La Guitarra” on the King FM Arts Channel.

His pop culture appearances include a mention in the MSN.com feature “12 Sexy Bald Men.”
