All County Picnic to focus on preparedness on Sunday

PORT TOWNSEND — The All County Picnic, which offers information about resilience and emergency preparedness in East Jefferson County, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The picnic, which will provide free corn on the cob for picnickers, will be in HJ Carroll Park, 9884 state Highway 19, also known as Rhody Drive.

The annual event put on by The Production Alliance aims to combine a neighborly outing with connections to information and resources before a crisis happens.

Participants will be able to learn about neighborhood preparedness plans and a new Hubs program which will act as regional distribution and emergency response centers for larger sections of the community. In addition, there will be more than 30 booths manned by local organizations and hands-on trainings including CPR and how to “Stop The Bleed.”
