PORT ANGELES — Those 21 and older can unwind with a cold beverage and a coloring book during Coloring Outside the Library, hosted by the North Olympic Library System on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
The hour of adult coloring will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Station 51 Taphouse, 125 W. Front St.
The library system will provide all artistic materials. Drinks are to be purchased by participants.
“Adults ages 21 and older are invited to unwind with a cold beverage and a coloring book during this informal hour of creativity,” said Paige Belfry, customer service specialist at the Port Angeles Library.
“With a plethora of designs for you to fill in — from salty seascapes to geometric whorls — there is a coloring page to suit every mood. Color outside the library — and perhaps outside the lines,” she said.
Participants can choose from patterns and colored pencils provided or bring their own coloring books and colors.
Coloring as an adult can help close the gap between the happy-go-lucky feelings of childhood and the stresses of adults, Belfry said.
“Not only is coloring soothing to the nerves, it is also the perfect opportunity to unplug and reacquaint oneself with simple pleasures in the company of others,” she said.
