AAUW-Port Townsend to host its annual silent auction Saturday

PORT TOWNSEND — AAUW-Port Townsend will conduct its annual silent auction Saturday.

The auction of new and gently used items and special experiences will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St. Only cash and checks will be accepted.

Proceeds will fund American Association of University Women-Port Townsend scholarships and projects in area schools.

Themed tables will feature hand-crafted jewelry, artwork, linens, housewares, baskets, purses, games, books, CDs/DVDs and other items.

Experiences up for bid will include an equestrian “Dancing with Horses” freestyle competition event, a summer dinner for eight to 10 people, high tea for six, two tickets to the Wearable Art Show, two tickets to the Key City Playhouse, massages, facials, weeding assistance and genealogy sessions.

The Duck Pond Trio, featuring local musicians Tony Petrillo, Jim Oliver and Dirk Anderson, will provide musical entertainment ranging from swing and jazz to blues and bebop.

AAUW Port Townsend and its affiliate, the University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County, promote education and equity through scholarships, middle school career days and elementary school projects in literacy and math.

In 2016, AAUW/UWF gave more than $49,000 in scholarships and awards to young women in East Jefferson County and sent eight middle school girls to Tech Trek, a weeklong science and math summer camp.

See pt-wa.aauw.net for information on AAUW programs and membership.

For more information on auction details and donations, contact Jani Templin-Weller at 360-821-1336.
