A glimpse of creative space is offered through the 18th annual Artists Studio Tour in Port Townsend

Thirty-two Port Townsend artists will open their studios for tours this weekend.

PORT TOWNSEND — Each artist approaches their craft in unique ways — observing their subject matter through different eyes and gleaning inspiration special to them.

This weekend, 32 artists based in the Port Townsend area will open their studios to the public, allowing a glimpse into their creative minds and the spaces where they find inspiration.

Tour times

The Art Port Townsend 18th annual Artist Studio Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There is no charge for the tour.

Participating artists include Mike Biskup, Melinda Bryden, Diana Cronin, Daily Bird Pottery, David Eisenhour, Lyn Faas, Heather Cole Gatto, Brett Goldstone, Victoria Foster Harrison, Gail Hustedde, Chuck Iffland, Paul Kaase, Virginia King, Donna Lark-Weiner, Walter Massey, Melissa McCanna, Millbrook Clayworks, Fred Miller, Arliss Newcomb, Sandra Offutt, Linda Okazaki, Mary O’Shaughnessy, Rayetta and Jerry Perrett, Julie Read, Kim Simonelli, Haden Starbuck, Margaret Takaki, Luke J. Tornatzky, Charles Van Gilder, Marla Varner and Sylvia White.

These professional artists — working in oil, watercolor, acrylic, sculpture, pastel, printmaking, woodworking, fabric art, glass and a variety of mixed media — will open their studios for demonstrations and to display of their work.

The tour is in conjunction with the 2016 Art Port Townsend art festival, which features dozens of original art pieces submitted by artists from throughout the Pacific Northwest on display this month at Northwind Arts Center.

84 pieces, 65 artists

The display — featuring 84 pieces submitted by 65 artists — remains open during regular business hours through Sunday.

The art center is open Thursdays through Mondays from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m.

Northwind Arts Center

The display and tour are presented by the Northwind Arts Center, Port Townsend Arts Commission and Washington State Arts Commission.
