SEQUIM — Two Port Hadlock residents are accused of breaking into a home on Chicken Coop Road.
Rachelle Wiley, 43, and Robert Koschnick, 37, were booked into Clallam County jail on charges of residential burglary and third-degree malicious mischief.
Late Tuesday morning, Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a possible burglary in process at a residence on Chicken Coop Road, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said they arrived to find a four-door sedan parked unoccupied at a closed and locked gate that had “No Trespassing” signs posted.
As deputies and a Jamestown Fish and Game officer approached the residence, Wiley and Koschnick exited through the front door, the release sad.
They were detained after telling deputies they were from Port Hadlock and did not know the property owner.
Deputies found the front door had been damaged and forced entry had been made into the residence, according to the release. The front door also had a “No Trespassing” sign posted on it.
Deputies found a handbag by the front door that was full of possessions from the residence.
