Two accused of intent to distribute heroin, meth

PORT ANGELES — Two Port Angeles people were booked last week for investigation of possession of methamphetamine and heroin with intent to deliver.

Taken into custody Thursday by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) were Jesse R. Haynes, 25, of Port Angeles and Katyn L. Flores, 20, of Port Angeles, for investigation of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a designated school or school bus stop. A firearms enhancement was recommended to be added to Haynes’ charges.

A small child in the apartment was taken into protective custody, according to an OPNET press release.

Haynes remained in the Clallam County jail on Saturday on $75,000 bond. Flores was released Friday on $5,000 bond.

OPNET served a search warrant at 8 a.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of South Francis Street after receiving information that the apartment contained stolen jewelry from a burglary in Clallam County.

During the course of the investigation, OPNET officers seized suspected stolen jewelry, a reported “substantial amount of cash,” approximately 5.5 ounces of methamphetamine (approximate street value $15,000), approximately 2.6 grams of heroin (approximate street value $260), three handguns, a rifle and a shotgun, the release said.
