PORT ANGELES — A Sequim couple and their nephew were arrested after an alleged burglary near Port Angeles, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Ronald Dale Weaver, 52; Jami Weaver, 55; and Benjamin Weaver, 19, all of Sequim, were booked Tuesday for investigation of a range of charges, including residential burglary, second-degree theft, second-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree burglary, Sheriff Bill Benedict announced.
Ronald, Jami and Benjamin Weaver were released from the Clallam County jail on their personal recognizance Wednesday.
All three have court appearances scheduled for today. None has been charged.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a woman told deputies that her home on Alice Road had been burglarized and that $25,000 worth of silver coins, $3,000 worth of diamond rings, a flat-screen television, tools and other items had been taken.
The woman told Deputy Stacy Sampson that she had previously rented an adjacent home to Jami Weaver and evicted her for failing to pay rent, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.
Sequim police were tipped Tuesday that Ronald, Jami and Benjamin Weaver had allegedly burglarized a home off Black Diamond Road, which is near Alice Road.
The tip included information that Jami and Benjamin Weaver had rented a house from an elderly couple and that the widowed woman was living in a Sequim nursing home, Chief Criminal Deputy Brian King said.
“The Weavers were also alleged to have been coming and going from the victim’s home and taking items belonging to the couple with each trip,” King said in a news release.
Deputy Don Kitchen was granted a search warrant for the Weavers’ residence on House Road north of Sequim. All three Weavers were found at the residence.
“Deputies recovered significant amounts of jewelry and tools identified as having been stolen from the victim’s Alice Road home,” King said.
After his arrest, Benjamin Weaver told deputies that he and Ronald Weaver had burglarized the Alice Road home after Jami Weaver had moved out of the rental, King said.
Benjamin Weaver was booked for investigation of second-degree burglary and second-degree theft.
Jami Weaver confessed to being in possession of jewelry taken from the victim’s home, King said.

Ronald Weaver confessed to burglarizing the Alice Road residence and the shed, taking a push lawn mower, torch with tanks, toolbox with tools, hand-power tools and a vacuum, King said.

Additional leads on other theft investigations were developed during the execution of the search warrant, King said. Those investigations are ongoing.
Ronald and Benjamin Weaver were previously arrested for allegedly taking potting soil and fertilizer from Sunny Farms on Sept. 21.
Sequim police recovered three truckloads of nursery-related products from the Weavers’ House Road home during the ensuing investigation, King said.
“Also recovered from this search warrant was a metal garden cart which had recently been reported stolen to deputies from a residence on Heuslein Road,” King said.
“Information received during this investigation revealed that the thefts were motivated by Ronald Weaver’s landscaping business identified by investigators as Jami’s Property Maintenance.”
No charges were filed in that case.
