SEQUIM — A repeat offender was arrested this week for burglary, theft and drug possession.
At approximately 7:56 a.m., Wednesday, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kaleb Gallauher who was indentified as the suspect in a home burglary reported around 9:47 a.m. Tuesday.
Tools and a welder valued at approximately $2,000 were among the reported stolen items. Survelliance footage captured the suspect on her property, according to a press release, and a neighbor positively identified him as Gallauher.
The homeowner also contacted Gallauher through Facebook Messenger where he admitted to having some of the stolen items and claimed he was only “borrowing” the welder.
Later Wednesday, at approximately 9:11 a.m., deputies responded to a separate report of a suspicious vehicle parked on private property. Deputies on scene recognized the vehilce from prior law enforcement encounters as belonging to Gallauher. Inside, they found Gallauher and a female asleep in the front seat, according to the release.
“In plain view, deputies observed numerous items of suspected drug paraphernalia, including plastic baggies with white powder residue, burned tin foil, hypodermic needles and a rubber band often associated with intravenous drug use. Both subjects were detained on suspicion of possessing controlled substances,” the release stated.
A pat-down of Gallauher revealed a piece of burnt tin foil in his pocket.
Further investigation uncovered:
• A baggie of suspected methamphetamine between the driver and passenger seats
• A baggie of suspected fentanyl behind the driver’s seat
• A black welder in the truck bed matching the item reported stolen
• A black hat with a white circular logo and sunglasses with clear frames and green lenses — both matching items worn by the suspect in surveillance footage
• A box of carbide router bits and clothing consistent with the footage
Deputies on scene determined there was probable cause to arrest Gallauher for burglary in the second degree and theft in the second degree. He was taken to Clallam County Correction Facility and booked into custody.
Bail was set at $25,000, according to the release.
Notably, Gallauher is a repeat offender:
• On June 4, 2025, Gallauher was booked for possession of a controlled substance and malicious mischief, and was released June 5.
• On June 26, 2025, he was again booked for possession of a controlled substance, malicious mischief and theft in the third degree, and released the following day, June 27.
This arrest highlights the ongoing challenges posed by repeat criminal behavior involving property crimes and drug offenses, according to the release.
The case remains under investigation and further charges may be filed.
