Port Angeles man charged with crime against 14-year-old girl

PORT ANGELES — A trial for a Port Angeles man charged with raping a 14-year-old girl has been reset.

Tucker Scott Kahler, 26, is charged with second-degree rape and third-degree rape of a child.

His trial was moved Friday from Jan. 27 to Feb. 18 at the request of newly appointed defense attorney Lawrence Freedman.

Port Angeles police alleged that Kahler raped a child he met at the Sequim Walmart on July 21 on Ediz Hook.

Kahler is being held in the Clallam County jail on $500,000 bail.

He is charged in another case for failing to register as a sex offender.

A trial in that case is set for March 9.
