Port Angeles police seek suspect accused of brandishing gun

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles police are looking for the driver of a dark green Dodge Neon who is accused of pointing a handgun — possibly a realistic BB gun — at someone in Port Angeles on Saturday.

PAPD is investigating a report of a balding man in his mid 30s pointing the handgun at someone on the 600 block of Whidby Avenue, the department posted on Facebook.

Cpl. Clay Rife said the incident was still under investigation. He said he could not provide a better description of the man.

It was reported at 3:47 p.m. Saturday that someone in a dark green Dodge Neon was speeding down the road when someone yelled at them for speeding.

The person reported that the man got out of his car and started walking toward them with a handgun and pointed it at them, police said.

The man then got back to his car and was last seen heading northbound on South Eunice Street.

About an hour later, police responded to a report that a handgun had been found in the alley on the 600 block of East Eighth Street. It was a realistic BB/pellet pistol and it is thought that it could be related to the incident.

Police are asking anyone with more information to call PAPD at 360-452-4545.
