Port Angeles police investigate report of robbery

PORT ANGELES — City police are investigating a reported robbery after a man said someone displayed a handgun and stole about $150 cash near Port Angeles High School early Sunday morning.

“There’s nothing to indicate that we have concerns for the public in that area,” Sgt. Kori Malone said.

The robbery was reported at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday. The victim, who does not live in that area, told police he was approached by two people, one of whom had a gun.

After stealing about $150, the two men allegedly drove away, the victim told police.

Malone said there were no witnesses, but PAPD is checking for surveillance video that might have caught the incident.

She said no one involved in the incident appeared to be a student.
