PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man arrested by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team and State Patrol SWAT team over the summer has been sentenced to 45 months in prison.
Justin C. Bricker, 30, was sentenced last week after pleading guilty to two counts of delivery of heroin, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and bail jumping.
During his arrest July 12, law enforcement recovered a Glock handgun that had been stolen from the home of two Clallam County Sheriff’s Office employees, 6 grams of heroin, $300 cash and a pipe bomb.
Sgt. Tom Kuch at the time called the home on North Larch Avenue a “drug dealer’s version of 7-Eleven.”
Court records say the home he was selling from was within 1,000 feet of a school bus stop.
OPNET had been investigating Bricker for several months prior to the arrest after hearing complaints from neighbors and seeing an increase in property crime in the area. Law enforcement used a criminal informant to conduct controlled buys, purchasing heroin from Bricker on two occasions.
The sentence Bricker received, 45 months, was 15 months below the standard sentence range, according to court documents. The standard range for his delivery and possession of heroin charges was 60 to 120 months, records say.
Before the charges were amended last week, Bricker had been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance with a firearm enhancement, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance with a firearm enhancement, first-degree possession of a firearm and bail jumping.
Bricker was previously convicted of taking a motor vehicle without permission and two counts of second-degree assault.
