PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man will serve almost four years in prison followed by almost four years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to three drug charges in Clallam County Superior Court, said the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Team.
Anthony C. Eacrett, 55, of Port Angeles was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine) and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine) following his December 2022 arrest by Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Team (OPNET) agents in Port Angeles.
He pleaded guilty on Jan. 24.
The case began in the summer of 2022 when OPNET used a confidential informant to buy fentanyl pills and methamphetamine from Eacrett on multiple occasions, according to OPNET investigators in a press release.
On Dec. 12, OPNET agents assisted by Port Angeles police arrested Eacrett without incident in the parking lot of a Port Angeles business.
After obtaining a search warrant for Eacrett’s vehicle and possessions, officers recovered an estimated 400 fentanyl pills, 50 grams of methamphetamine, 24 grams of heroin and 20 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $8,200, plus cash and a digital scale, according to the release.
Another search warrant served at Eacrett’s Port Angeles residence recovered an estimated 4,000 fentanyl pills with an estimated street value of $40,000, plus $1,500 in cash, the release stated.
Eacrett’s sentence consists of 45 months in an undisclosed prison followed by 45 months under state Department of Corrections supervision, with any violation resulting in serving the remaining time in prison.
“OPNET anticipates many more arrests for those dealing dangerous drugs in our community in the coming months,” the release stated.
OPNET is a multi-agency team dedicated to the enforcement of narcotics laws in Clallam and Jefferson counties. Agencies dedicating investigators to the team include the Clallam and Jefferson county sheriff’s offices; Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend police departments; U.S. Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations.
