PORT ANGELES — Julian Jason Eren has been sentenced to 12½ years in prison and three years’ community custody for child rape and other crimes, the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced.
Eren, 20, of Port Angeles was sentenced Thursday in Clallam County Superior Court.
He pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree child rape and two counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
Port Angeles police said Eren sexually abused a relative in Clallam and King counties between September 2009 and September 2011.
The boy was 6 years old when the abuse started.
Eren confessed to the crimes in an interview with police, according to the affidavit for probable cause.
“The Clallam and King County prosecuting attorney’s offices collaborated in order to realize this result, which resolved cases pending in each jurisdiction,” Clallam County Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Michele Devlin said.
Eren was originally charged with single counts of first-degree child rape and first-degree child molestation. He accepted a plea offer May 16, court papers show.
At Thursday’s sentencing, Superior Court judge Erik Rohrer followed the sentence as recommended by Devlin and defense attorney John Hayden of Clallam Public Defender.
The 150-month sentence was in the middle of a 129- to 171-month standard sentencing range.
Eren’s adult criminal history included convictions of residential burglary, residential burglary with sexual motivation and fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation, Devlin said.
Eren was ordered to pay $800 in legal fees, comply with sex offender treatment and register as a sex offender after he is released.
Rohrer signed a lifetime sexual assault no-contact order preventing Eren from having contact with the victim.
