Port Angeles man cited after wreck near Kingston

State Patrol: Driver was following too close, had a suspended license

KINGSTON — A Port Angeles man has been cited by the State Patrol for allegedly rear-ending a vehicle near Kingston, troopers said.

There were no major injuries resulting from the Sunday crash.

Leo S. Sawyer-Lucas, 23, was charged with following too close, driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device after the wreck on state Highway 104 about two miles west of Kingston, according to a State Patrol report.

Troopers said Sawyer-Lucas drove a 2005 Ford Explorer into the back of a 2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by Lisa A. Barlow, 54, of Kingston at the intersection of state Highways 104 and 307.

Barlow was stopped at a red light when the wreck occurred in the westbound lane, troopers said. She was taken by aid to a Kitsap County hospital as a precaution, according to the report.

Sawyer-Lucas and Barlow each were wearing seat belts, troopers said. Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have been factors in the wreck.

Both vehicles were damaged and were driven from the scene.

The State Patrol said inattention caused the wreck.
