PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help identify a man they allege broke into the Lincoln Park Grocery in Port Angeles early Monday morning.
Sgt. Randy Pieper said the man was caught on camera smashing through the window of the store at about 4 a.m. Monday and stealing from the store.
He spent less than a minute taking cigarette cartons and possibly some other small items.
He is described as being in his late-teens up to mid-20s with a light complexion.
He wore a ball cap with with a decal on the left front edge of the bill, a hooded sweatshirt with a Nike swoosh symbol across the front, a backpack with what appeared to be a Nike swoosh symbol on the right strap and light-colored latex or similar-material gloves, deputies said.
It is the third recent break-in at the grocery store, Pieper said.
On April 22, a burglar forced open the back door and took cigarettes, candy, snacks, beer and a charity donation jar. The loss was estimated at $965.
On June 10, a burglar broke a front display window and stole cigarettes, beer and a charity donation jar, Pieper said. The loss was estimated at about $2,972.25.
