PORT ANGELES — Three people charged for a triple homicide east of Port Angeles in late 2018 are facing possible new charges for allegedly taking weapons from the murder scene and trying to sell them, a Clallam County prosecutor said.

Dennis Marvin Bauer, 51, Kallie Ann Letellier, 35, and Ryan Warren Ward, 38, each appeared Friday in Clallam County Superior Court.

Each is charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated murder with firearm enhancements for the Dec. 26, 2018 shooting deaths of trucking company owner Darrell C. Iverson, 57; his son, Jordan D. Iverson, 27; and Jordan Iverson’s girlfriend, Tiffany A. May, 26.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said the murders appeared to grow out of a disagreement between Bauer and Darrell Iverson over the treatment of Letellier.

Michele Devlin, Clallam County chief criminal deputy prosecuting attorney, said she planned to amend the charges in each case to include possession of stolen firearms, unlawful possession of firearms and accomplice liability.

“Firearms were stolen from the scene of the murder and were tried to be sold,” Devlin said in court Friday.

“What we’re waiting for is law enforcement to do their supplemental PC (probable cause) so we can get those amendments taken care of.”

Meanwhile, Superior Court Judge Lauren Erickson signed orders to compel additional DNA testing in each case.

Devlin reported Friday that investigators continue to review information found on computer hard drives and other evidence.

“This is the second round of DNA,” Devlin said of the tests being performed at a State Patrol crime lab.

“There will be a third round going, but they won’t take it until this round is done. Hopefully it will be done sooner rather than later now that we have a consumption order.”

The victims lived at Iverson’s residence at 52 Bear Meadow Road, where nearly 1,000 pieces of evidence were collected.

“We continue to push, push, push as much as we can,” Devlin said of the discovery phase.

“And as soon as we get anything, we’ll turn it over (to the defense).”

New trial dates

New trial dates were set Friday for Bauer and Ward.

Bauer’s trial was moved from March 30 to June 8, and Ward’s trial was moved from Feb. 3 to May 4.

“They’re going to bump into each other somehow or another,” Devlin said of the six-week trials. “We’ll figure that out.”

Status hearings were set for Feb. 7 in Bauer and Ward’s cases.

Letellier’s trial was left on for March 16.

“This case is in a bit of a different posture,” Devlin told Erickson and defense attorney Larry Freedman.

“I have told Mr. Freedman that I will be getting to him about a potential plea offer in the next couple weeks. I do need to make the same amendment to her information (criminal charges).”

A status hearing for Letellier’s case was set for Jan. 24.

Freedman objected to new charges being filed against his client.

“Those are separate issues,” Freedman said of the firearms allegations.

“They’ll need a separate case, and I object to amending this information with other matters that are not related to the murder.”

Erickson said she would consider arguments on the new charges after they are filed.

Bauer is being held in the Kitsap County jail on $3.5 million bail.

Ward is being held in the Jefferson County jail on $3 million bail.

Letellier is being held in the Clallam County jail on $3 million bail.
